I am a food writer, food stylist and props stylist and have had a successful career in the food media industry for more than 30 years, working in London and Australia and now in SW France. Alongside my husband, food and lifestyle photographer Ian Wallace we have produced many features, cook books and articles for some of the most well know and highly regarded food publications around the world.

Alongside my food work, styling the food and the props for photo shoots has led me to creating some of my own ceramics as a way in which I can use original one off pieces. Ceramics for me, really began as an extension of my work in food media and gradually I have found I spend as much time on my hobby as I do in the kitchen. It allows me a lovely work/life balance and I am at a really happy place with it.

I tend to throw or build pieces that I can use both in my kitchen and in my work. A starting point for making anything in my pottery studio begins with me first imagining how I would use it practically. Some bowls are just right for a risotto, others make the best dish for hummus, sushi or soup. I often name a piece after the dish it was inspired by, be it a fig bowl, tomato plate or flat white cup.

Having built up the confidence and with the support and encouragement from friends and family I am now selling my ceramics directly online from my shop (see menu above) or by commissions. Please check out the shop and please contact me with any questions.
